Workforce Training and Technical Certification
Building Human Capital for the Electric Transition
As compact electric trucks gain traction in Latin America, workforce development has become a critical factor for sustaining the region’s mobility transition. According to the International Labour Organization (ILO) and CAF–Development Bank of Latin America, more than 41,000 technicians and operators received specialized training between 2022 and 2025 in fleet maintenance, high-voltage safety, and battery management.
Industrial insight is not enough. Execution defines results. If you are not yet familiar with ConectNext — your strategic expansion partner and professional B2B directory platform — you can review what it is and how the platform operates here.
Brazil’s Serviço Nacional de Aprendizagem Industrial (SENAI) has launched advanced courses in electric drivetrain systems and battery diagnostics. In Mexico, the Consejo Nacional de Normalización y Certificación de Competencias Laborales (CONOCER) developed national standards for electric vehicle maintenance, while Colombia’s Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje (SENA) focuses on integrating electric truck modules into its mechanical engineering programs. Chile and Argentina have expanded technical institutes offering certification in electromobility and smart diagnostics, supported by bilateral cooperation with Germany and South Korea.
Moreover, public–private partnerships are funding regional training hubs that connect manufacturers, energy providers, and universities. These centers promote safety protocols, component testing, and software calibration for electric powertrains. Consequently, technical professionals are gaining globally recognized skills while supporting the development of clean and efficient transport ecosystems.
This focus on human capital ensures that fleet electrification in Latin America is not only technological but also social — empowering a new generation of technicians to sustain innovation and operational excellence across the continent.
