B2B Expansion Model
The ConectNext B2B Expansion Model organizes each engagement around a defined business objective, a written scope, clear responsibilities and coordinated execution.
Operating from Bogotá, Colombia, ConectNext works with international manufacturers, industrial suppliers and technology companies evaluating, establishing or developing their business in Latin America.
Every expansion project is created individually. The countries, activities, deliverables, providers, authority limits, fees and proposed schedule depend on the company’s requirements and are defined before execution begins. Where requested, the engagement can also include ongoing local operations management after establishment.
1. Initial Project Assessment
The process begins when a company provides information about its business, products, target markets and expansion objectives.
The initial assessment considers:
- The company and its industrial activity
- Products or technologies involved
- Target country or countries
- Intended commercial or operational activities
- Current stage of regional development
- Support requested from ConectNext
- Available documentation and internal resources
- Timing and relevant commercial priorities
This assessment helps determine whether ConectNext can define an appropriate engagement and what additional information may be required.
Submitting an inquiry does not create a commercial relationship or guarantee that a project will be accepted.
2. Definition of the Project Scope
When there is a suitable basis for engagement, ConectNext works with the company to define the proposed scope.
The scope establishes what the project is intended to accomplish and which activities are required. It also separates the work managed directly by ConectNext from services delivered by specialized local providers.
The definition may address:
- Countries included in the project
- Products or business lines covered
- Activities to be performed
- Expected deliverables
- Information required from the client
- Responsibilities of each party
- Specialized providers required
- Warehousing, inventory handling and local distribution requirements, where applicable
- Merchandise ownership, release authority and logistics provider responsibilities
- Reporting arrangements
- Ongoing local management requirements, where applicable
- Operational authority, budgets and approval limits
- Decisions reserved for the client
- Proposed stages and timing
Activities that are not expressly included remain outside the engagement.
This prevents assumptions about geographic coverage, commercial authority or professional responsibilities before work begins.
3. Identification of Local Delivery Requirements
A project involving another jurisdiction may require local legal, accounting, tax, regulatory, property, banking, employment or operational services.
ConectNext identifies the types of specialized support required for the proposed scope and coordinates the appropriate delivery arrangements.
Legal advice, accounting work, tax conclusions, regulatory services and other regulated professional activities are performed by qualified providers in the relevant jurisdiction. ConectNext does not present these professionals as its own permanent personnel or imply that it maintains offices in every target country.
Where third-party services are required, the proposal identifies their role, responsibilities and available cost information.
Each country is assessed separately. A provider, procedure or timeline applicable in one jurisdiction is not assumed to apply in another.
4. Tailored Commercial Proposal
Once the proposed scope has been defined, ConectNext prepares a commercial proposal for the company’s review.
The proposal sets out the basis of the potential engagement, including:
- Project objective
- Geographic scope
- Services and activities included
- Deliverables
- Responsibilities of ConectNext
- Responsibilities of the client
- Role of specialized local providers
- Operational authority and approval limits, where applicable
- Fees and payment terms
- Available third-party costs
- Proposed duration or schedule
- Reporting and communication arrangements
- Assumptions, exclusions and relevant limitations
The company can review the proposal and request clarification before deciding whether to proceed.
No activity begins until the parties have agreed to the applicable scope and commercial terms.
5. Project Activation
After the engagement has been agreed and the initial contractual and payment requirements have been completed, ConectNext organizes the project’s activation.
This stage may include:
- Confirmation of authorized contacts
- Collection of required company and product information
- Review of approved corporate materials
- Confirmation of communication channels
- Coordination with specialized providers
- Establishment of reporting arrangements
- Confirmation of initial priorities and deadlines
- Definition of applicable budgets and approval procedures
The client must provide accurate, complete and current information relevant to the project.
Delays in documentation, approvals, payments or responses may affect the proposed schedule and the ability to complete particular activities.
6. Coordinated Execution
ConectNext manages the activities assigned under the agreed scope and coordinates communication between the parties involved.
For approved projects requiring inventory in Colombia, execution may include coordination of warehouse facilities, merchandise reception, inventory reporting, order preparation, customer collection and local distribution through specialized logistics providers.
Execution follows the priorities, authority limits and responsibilities established for the project. ConectNext does not make investment decisions, approve contractual commitments or accept obligations on behalf of the client unless specific written authority has been granted.
Where specialized providers participate, they remain professionally responsible for the services they perform.
Government authorities, financial institutions, event organizers, property providers and other third parties retain control over their own requirements, decisions, availability and processing periods.
7. Progress Reporting and Client Decisions
Reporting arrangements are defined according to the nature and duration of the engagement.
Project updates may identify:
- Activities completed
- Work currently in progress
- Information or documents received
- Outstanding client requirements
- Responses from external parties
- Matters requiring approval
- Changes affecting scope, cost or timing
- Recommended next actions
Reporting gives the client visibility into execution and helps maintain continuity between its internal team, ConectNext and the specialized providers involved.
The client retains authority over ownership, investments, financing, strategic direction and contractual commitments. Where an ongoing management mandate is contracted, ConectNext may exercise defined operational authority within the approved budgets and limits established by the client.
8. Changes to the Agreed Scope
Expansion requirements may change as the project develops. A company may decide to include another country, add a product line, extend the duration or request activities that were not part of the original proposal.
Additional work is not assumed to be included automatically.
When a change is requested, ConectNext assesses:
- The new objective or activity
- Resources and providers required
- Effect on responsibilities
- Additional documentation needed
- Changes to fees or third-party costs
- Effect on the proposed schedule
- Changes to authority or approval limits
The expanded or modified scope must be agreed before the additional work begins.
This keeps the engagement aligned with the company’s current priorities while preserving clarity over responsibilities and commercial terms.
9. Completion or Continuation
A project may conclude when the contracted activities and deliverables have been completed. Where appropriate, the company may also evaluate a continuation or a new stage.
Continuation can involve extending an existing activity, moving into another market, contracting a different service or delegating agreed local operations to ConectNext. It requires a new or amended scope and does not occur automatically.
At the end of an agreed stage, the company retains the authority to:
- Conclude the engagement
- Continue the existing scope
- Modify its priorities
- Assess an additional country
- Contract another stage
- Delegate agreed local operations to ConectNext under an ongoing management mandate
- Proceed independently using the information and deliverables received
ConectNext does not require companies to progress toward a larger engagement, ongoing management or permanent local establishment.
10. Optional Ongoing Local Operations Management
After establishing a company or operational presence, an international organization may require local management because it does not have its own regional management team or sufficient internal resources to supervise day-to-day activities.
Under a separate written mandate, ConectNext can manage and coordinate agreed elements of the local operation. Depending on the approved scope, this may include:
- Coordination of offices, warehouses and other operational facilities
- Coordination of warehouse providers, inventory reporting, approved merchandise releases, order preparation and local distribution
- Coordination of recruitment, employment and payroll providers
- Follow-up on personnel and administrative processes
- Coordination with accounting, tax, legal and regulatory specialists
- Management of local administrative and operational suppliers
- Follow-up on approved budgets, invoices and payments within defined authority limits
- Coordination of documentation, renewals and recurring operational requirements
- Communication between the local operation and the client’s headquarters
- Continuity between operational and commercial activities
- Periodic reporting on activities, pending requirements and decisions requiring client approval
Warehousing and Distribution Operations in Colombia
Legal, accounting, tax, payroll, regulatory and other regulated professional services remain the responsibility of the qualified local providers appointed for the relevant jurisdiction.
The client retains ownership of the local entity and authority over strategic direction, investments, financing, material contracts and other reserved decisions. ConectNext acts only within the operational authority, budgets and approval limits established in the written mandate.
Ongoing local operations management is contracted separately from company establishment. Its commercial terms may include a monthly management fee and an agreed percentage applicable to the activities or financial basis specified in the contract.
The client may later assume direct management, modify the mandate or conclude the service according to the applicable contractual terms.
Geographic Scope Is Defined by Each Project
ConectNext coordinates expansion engagements from Bogotá, Colombia.
A project may focus exclusively on Colombia or include other Latin American countries when appropriate delivery arrangements can be established. Multi-country engagements can be organized in phases, with an individual scope for each jurisdiction.
Regional coverage does not imply identical services, providers, costs or processing conditions throughout Latin America. These elements are evaluated according to the target country and requested activity.
Directory Participation Is Separate
The ConectNext B2B directory operates independently from the expansion model described on this page.
A company may purchase a directory listing without contracting expansion services. Likewise, a manufacturer may contract an expansion project without participating in the directory.
A listing does not include market evaluation, commercial representation, project coordination, business establishment or ongoing local operations management. These activities require a separate expansion engagement.
Results and External Decisions
ConectNext commits to performing the activities included in the agreed scope and providing the corresponding management, coordination and reporting.
Commercial results and third-party decisions cannot be guaranteed. These include market demand, responses from organizations contacted, distributor appointments, customer contracts, sales, regulatory approvals, company registrations, financial institution onboarding, property availability and government processing periods.
Any limitations or dependencies relevant to a particular project are identified in the proposal or communicated if they arise during execution.
